Collection: Les 9 Muses

In Avignon, Raphaël André grew up immersed in pop culture, using drawing as a way to escape boredom. After studying art, he became a professional artist. A pivotal moment in his life and creativity came when he met his partner, a photographer, and took a trip to Florence. Soon after, he made his first sales and exhibited his work, later participating in two editions of the Pays d'Aix Biennale and a group exhibition, Les Amis des Arts. Now 25, Raphaël lives in Aix-en-Provence and appreciates that people are more interested in his work than in the artist behind it. Curious by nature, he is particularly drawn to the history of art, especially the Baroque and Renaissance periods. To capture the emotions of stone, he uses form to translate essential details into shades of black, gray, and white. Photographs act as the negative of sculpture, creating textures and contrasts. His work reflects both classical and contemporary artistic influences.
